Getting StartedOverview

Overview

FolioView is built around one core flow: import a broker statement → read your dashboard. It works the same way whether your data comes from DeGiro, Revolut, or Interactive Brokers. Here's how to do it for the first time.

1. Export your data from your broker

Each broker exports the statement a little differently. Pick your broker and follow the step-by-step guide:

The statement covers every cash movement — buys, sells, dividends, fees, FX conversions, and deposits. That's everything FolioView needs.

2. Upload to FolioView

  1. Sign in and open Upload from the sidebar.
  2. Drop the file onto the upload area (or click to browse). Files up to 10 MB are accepted.
  3. FolioView detects the export format, parses every transaction type, and aggregates partial-fill orders into single trades.

You'll be redirected to your portfolio dashboard the moment the import finishes.

3. Read your dashboard

The portfolio page shows:

  • Net worth — your portfolio's current mark-to-market value, with today's delta.
  • KPI chips — realized P/L (FIFO), dividends received, fees paid, and today's gain/loss.
  • Portfolio value chart — historical net worth reconstructed from your trade ledger.
  • Holdings table — every open position with cost basis, current value, and unrealized P/L.
  • Trades, transactions, commissions — drill-down pages from the sidebar.

4. Try the broker fee comparison

Open Commissions from the sidebar. FolioView re-prices your exact trade history under IBKR, Revolut, and Trading 212 fee schedules — so you can see what your current broker actually costs versus what a switch would have cost.

Re-importing

You can re-upload a fresh statement at any time. FolioView replaces the previous import with the new data — there's no merge logic to fight with. (Interactive Brokers syncs are windowed: each sync refreshes only its own date range and keeps older history.)
